MORE Tips for Getting Great Dallas Headshots

Friends, models, actors and executives, we are continuing on Tips to get the MOST from great Dallas headshots. As we were saying, beyond wardrobe and lighting techniques, what you can do most of all to help yourself is be positive!

ATTITUDE MUSIC
Line up some songs on your iPod the night before your headshot session. Pick different music for different looks you have planned. The key is to pick music that you respond to – that helps you feel positive and energetic – upbeat! Close your eyes and notice how each song makes you feel, then decide if this is the right “mood” for the headshots you want. If it is, include it in your mix and loop it if you need to.

NO TIRED EYES!
Avoid coffee (caffine) and cigarettes. Also drink extra water and get enough rest the night before the shoot. All these things will help your overall skin tone, help you not be bloated (water retention), and keep your eyes youthful! You want to look fresh and positive and the area I have to do the most retouching on is around the eyes. If you can adopt these healthy habits about 2 weeks before the photo shoot you’ll do great!

MINIMAL RETOUCHING
A lot of other Dallas headshots are “overly retouched” to the trained eye of a casting director or agent. You still need to look like YOU. If you need to brush off a little speck on your shirt, that’s fine, of course, but avoid going through your headshot session thinking, “I can retouch that later”. Your goal should be to get the perfect shot you don’t need to do anything to. A good way to do that is to take regular breaks during your photo session to review your headshots.

At Headshot Pros, we hope these Dallas headshot photo tips help you enjoy the most from your headshots. To book headshots in the Dallas area, call our photo studio at 972-822-3587.
